So it’s suggested that you refrain from sexual activity until you have the results.

Sometimes tests are conducted too soon after possible exposure, and the disease hasn’t had enough time to show up on the results. Because of this, it’s important to get tested twice—once soon after possible exposure and then again six weeks later. This will allow for a more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan if necessary.
